Before Friday’s opening ceremony, Snoop Dogg will carry the Olympic flame during its last few steps. The mayor of Saint-Denis, a suburb of Paris located in the north, Mathieu Hanotin, announced on X that he will carry the Olympic torch through the town. Le Monde reports that French actress Laetitia Casta, French rapper MC Solaar, and retired pole-vaulter Sergey Bubka from Ukraine are also carrying the torch on that day.
