Why LeBron James was called Team USA male flagbearer at Paris Olympics

 

The male flagbearer for Team USA at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris will be none other than NBA star LeBron James, it was announced on Monday.

“Setting the standard for Team USA.” The men’s flag bearer for the Opening Ceremony will be LeBron James, a two-time Olympic gold medallist, the Team USA announced on Instagram.

At his fourth Olympics, Los Angeles Lakers forward James, 39, will represent the United States. He has already won gold medals at the Olympics in Beijing (2008) and London (2012).

In his first Olympic Games, in Athens 2004 he took home a bronze medal.

Declaring in a statement, “It’s an amazing honor to represent the United States on this global platform, especially at a time that can unite the entire world.”

In addition to becoming the NBA’s all-time scoring leader in 2023, James is a four-time champion, his most recent coming with the Lakers in 2020.

Overlooking the Seine, an opening ceremony for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games is scheduled for this Friday.
