Whenever the awkward cause for the snub becomes apparent, Lewis Hamilton declines to sign an F1 fan’s helmet

Although he has already stated why, Lewis Hamilton was shown in the video declining to sign a replica helmet for a fan. The seven-time Formula One champion has been in high demand at the Austrian Grand Prix, as per usual. Hamilton spent time interacting with fans during a busy signing session, signing hats and miniature versions of his Mercedes. On the other hand, he flatly refused to autograph a clone of his well-known yellow helmet bearing the Brazil flag on the back. F1 fans began to wonder why the incident was captured on camera and published on social media.

The only item Hamilton has ever refused to sign is a helmet because he takes great pleasure in them—that’s why he wears his jersey—but he has previously discussed this in an interview with GQ Magazine from last year.

Hamilton seldom gives away his helmets because he is so protective of them. He clarified, saying, “I may have given away two helmets, to my boss and an extremely close buddy who has since died away. “My heritage includes those. So that others can see my trip from the beginning, one day I want to exhibit them all in a museum together with all of my automobiles and belongings. For his fans, Hamilton is happy to autograph anything else, even faces. Several supporters toss their infants at him and yell, “Hey, hold my baby,” he disclosed. This infant is yours to keep now. I have signed the cheek and forehead of someone.

Though he had his best finish of the year in Spain the previous weekend, Hamilton has an underdog going into the Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday. He trailed teammate Russell in qualifying for the main event after starting and finishing sixth in the Sprint. This year, after one lap, Russell leads Hamilton 9–2. As he finished almost six tenths behind pole-sitter Max Verstappen, he said over the radio, “Ah, I am just slow, mate.” The moment Hamilton left his garage with his Mercedes’s rear jack still in place perfectly encapsulated his entire weekend. Hamilton was called to the stewards due to a reported “unsafe release” even though the equipment slid off without much incident. For the offense, Mercedes was fined 5,000 euros, or £4,240.
