Victor Osimhen says he wants to play in the Premier League amid interest from Chelsea and Arsenal

Arsenal and Chelsea have expressed interest in Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who has stated that he would like to play in the Premier League eventually.

The top player for Napoli, who recently signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him there until 2026, stated that he would like to play in the Premier League in the future. In recent months, the Nigerian international has been strongly connected to a number of elite European teams, including the English teams Chelsea and Arsenal.

The attacker remarked, “I am happy with the president,” in an interview with Sky Sports. We get along well, me and him. I’m not going to lie. He has been a part of my life since I joined the team in 2020. I have a positive relationship with his family as well, and no matter what has transpired, I think it is always necessary to make sure that we continue to do so.

“ADL, or Aurelio De Laurentiis, has been a nice president to me outside of the field, so naturally, I do everything in my power to help them win the Scudetto. Being happy with the club’s owner and having this kind of relationship is always crucial to me.”

The Nigerian responded, “Of course one day, definitely, but for now, I have other plans in my career that I am looking forward to,” when asked if he wanted to play in the Premier League in the future. Thus, everyone is aware when the moment arrives.”

The 25-year-old’s new deal apparently has a huge €130 million (£112 million/$141 million) release clause, but the Blues might still make a play for him given his willingness to travel to England, even though his worth on the transfer market has grown. Real Madrid, who intends to give up on Kylian Mbappe, is also considering a move for the attacker.

Osimhen is now in the Ivory Coast for the AFCON tournament, thus for the time being he is still focused on his national team. The Super Eagles will play the hosts on Thursday after drawing 1-1 with Equatorial Guinea to start the competition.
