The Luton survival fight is unaffected by Everton’s penalty reduction, according to Edwards

Luton Town’s attempt to avoid Premier League relegation is not significantly impacted by Everton’s 10-point deduction, which was reduced to six points on Monday following an appeal, according to Hatters boss Rob Edwards.
Before the punishment for breaking the league’s financial regulations was reduced, Luton, who was in 18th place with 20 points, was one point behind Everton with a game remaining. However, the Toffees have now moved up to 15th place with 25 points.
It doesn’t really matter because we’ve been leaving the league table without receiving any deductions anyhow. We are currently in the bottom three, like we were previously,” Edwards said to reporters. “Situation is the same, really, from my point of view.”

Despite having played one more game than Luton, Nottingham Forest, who fell to 17th position, is four points ahead of them. For violating the league’s spending regulations, Forest might also lose points.
According to Edwards, Luton will not rely on other teams losing points in order to stay in the league.
“We can’t be in the league for that reason. In a way, it’s good that there is some clarity; we have to strive to do it on our own,” he remarked.

“It is important what other people do, but if we don’t do our job it doesn’t matter at all anyway.”
Tuesday is Luton’s FA Cup fifth round matchup against holders Manchester City; on Saturday, they play their next league matchup against Aston Villa.
