Micah Parsons revealed why he views criticisms of his game as a ‘privilege.’
Micah Parsons is a versatile defender that the Dallas Cowboys are fortunate to have on the team. After accumulating at least 13 sacks in each of his first three NFL seasons, the fourth-year linebacker has established himself as a key member of the Cowboys defense. That hasn’t prevented supporters from blaming Parsons, though, for doing nothing to impact the playoffs. On Friday, Parsons spoke with the media about his worries.
At a child football camp on Friday, Parsons remarked, via Sophia Vesely of the Dallas Morning News, “The criticism is a privilege because sometimes a great standard is not good enough for those who are greater.” “You have to answer the phone when someone calls for something. That is not a bad thing. It motivates and encourages me to be better, therefore it’s the greatest positive thing someone can say to me…. Saying, “Hey, you are great, but you can be greater,” is a huge privilege.
Parsons hopes to improve in 2024 in part by continuing to play on the field longer.He declared, “I’ve been doing a lot of muscle endurance.” I’ve been performing a lot of squats and lunges. I’m going to keep moving my legs.
According to reports, Parsons is also attempting to communicate more with the new defensive coaching staff, especially Mike Zimmer, the new defensive coordinator.
“The defensive team has communicated with me in a very clear and honest manner regarding their expectations, the way they want their defense to be run, and my alignment,” Parsons stated. “It’s fantastic.”
