Saudi Pro League is already better than Ligue 1 – Cristiano Ronaldo

The shocking assertion made by Cristiano Ronaldo is that the Saudi Pro League is “already” better than Ligue 1.

According to Ronaldo, the Pro League is already at a higher level than the premier domestic league in France. It should be noted that the Portugal international has never played in the French top league, therefore it’s possible that he was making a subtle jab at his old opponent, Lionel Messi, who was a player for Paris Saint-Germain before joining Inter Miami.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s remarks coincide with Jordan Henderson’s decision to leave the Pro League after just six months and return to Europe, having joined Ajax from Al-Ettifaq.

At Friday’s Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, Cristiano Ronaldo stated, according to statements provided by Fabrizio Romano: “The Saudi Pro league is not worse than Ligue 1.” After spending a year there, I can declare with certainty that the Saudi Pro League is more competitive than Ligue 1. We already outperform the French league.”

“I feel so happy at Al Nassr; it’s a great move,” he continued. Saudi Arabia is going through a lengthy process. However, they will eventually reach the highest level. The Saudi Pro League is one of the top three leagues in the world, in my opinion. Saudi Arabians will be pleased.

Ronaldo has made 44 appearances for Nassr since joining the team, totaling 38 goals and 13 assists. 2023 saw him emerge as the world’s leading scorer, surpassing players like as Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

The next friendly match for Nassr is scheduled for January 24 against Shanghai Shenhua. On February 1, they will also play Inter Miami in a prestigious friendly.
