Saints part ways with Offensive Coordinator Pete Carmichael

Longtime offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael and two other assistant coaches, Bob Bicknell and Kodi Burns, have left the New Orleans Saints.

Coach of the quarterbacks for the team since 2006, Carmichael originally joined. He was also named the pass game coordinator in 2008. He was then elevated to offensive coordinator in 2009, working under Sean Payton, the former head coach of the Saints.

Carmichael played a significant role in the offensive attack strategy while he was in New Orleans. From 2006 to 2019, the offense rated in the top 10 every season and led the NFL in yardage six times. The team’s 14-year run of ranking in the top 10 offensively under Carmichael’s leadership was the third-longest since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970.

The Saints will now start the arduous task of finding a replacement for Carmichael. Follow Canal Street Chronicles for all the most recent information regarding this unfolding scenario.
