Reasons for Racing break of 4 months for ESPN2

The halfway point of the record-breaking 24-race 2024 Formula 1 season was reached two Sundays ago at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone Circuit.

This year’s ESPN2 broadcast schedule featured seven races, of which this one was the fourth. This race was the first to air on ESPN2 since the mid-May Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at the Imola Circuit.

ESPN2 has no plans to broadcast any of the next eight races. ESPN is scheduled to broadcast live coverage of the next six races, which include the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring on Sunday, July 21 and the Singapore Grand Prix at Marina Bay Street Circuit on Sunday, September 22.

No more Formula 1 races on ESPN2 until November

The races that follow are the Sunday, October 20 United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas and the Sunday, October 27 Mexico City Grand Prix at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. ABC is scheduled to air both of them live.

The next Formula 1 race that ESPN2 will broadcast is the Sao Paulo Grand Prix at Interlagos Circuit on Sunday, November 3. Three of the season’s final four races on ESPN2 are scheduled to begin with this race in Brazil.

The Las Vegas Grand Prix, which will take place at the Las Vegas Strip Street Circuit on Sunday, November 24, is the 12th and last race on ESPN’s schedule.

Next, on Sunday, December 1, at Lusail International Circuit in Qatar, and on Sunday, December 8, at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, ESPN2 will present back-to-back races to cap off the season.
