Real Madrid’s message to Ferrari F1 star Carlos Sainz

This week, after his incredible accomplishment, Real Madrid posted a message on social media to the father of Formula One star Carlos Sainz.

The father of Scuderia Ferrari F1 driver Carlos Sainz Jr., Carlos Sainz Sr., won the Dakar Rally for the fourth time this week. The 61-year-old accomplished a historic feat by winning the renowned endurance race in Saudi Arabia while operating an electric Audi. Real Madrid’s official social media platforms congratulated Sainz Sr. on his win on Friday morning.

Real Madrid said the following on X, the former Twitter platform: “@CSainz_oficial, congratulations on winning your fourth Dakar Rally! The fact that a Madridista like you, a Real Madrid honorary member, is still making history and elevating your already legendary reputation, is an honor for our club. Among the greatest champions is you. Many congratulations!”

Although Carlos Sainz Sr. is an avid supporter of Real Madrid, he has a deeper bond with the team. He played football before turning to motorsports, and in the 1970s, Los Blancos offered him a tryout. Sainz Sr. made an unsuccessful bid for vice president decades later, following the resignations of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and vice president Fernando Martin.

It’s uncertain if Sainz Sr. will return to defend his title in the Dakar Rally next year given Audi’s withdrawal. He will be closely following Real Madrid’s attempt to win La Liga in the interim; Carlo Ancelotti’s team is presently second in the standings, one point behind leaders Girona but seven ahead of bitter rivals Barcelona. Regarding Sainz Jr., he will be anticipating the upcoming Formula One season alongside his team, Ferrari. The opening race of the 2024 campaign is scheduled to begin on March 2 in Bahrain.
