Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappe labelled PSG’s greatest ever player – Thierry Henry

Thierry Henry asserts that Kylian Mbappe ought to depart Paris Saint-Germain with his “head held high” because he is the team’s finest player of all time.

In the Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday, PSG fell to Borussia Dortmund 2-0 on aggregate, shattering Mbappe’s dreams of capturing the title with the French powerhouse. Despite not winning the Champions League in his six years at PSG, Arsenal veteran Henry thinks the 25-year-old is PSG’s greatest player ever and maintains his excellent legacy. The midfielder is expected to sign with Real Madrid this summer.

WHAT THIERRY HENRY SAID

“We all know that Kylian Mbappe is leaving,” Henry stated on CBS Sports. He was outstanding for PSG. You [Mbappe] can walk out of this club with a very proud head. Not everyone has the ability to succeed anywhere, particularly in the Champions League. However, the big man did a great job playing for PSG throughout his entire career, so I won’t hold it against him personally if they didn’t win the Champions League.”

Henry remarked, “It’s not even a discussion,” in response to the question of whether he thought Mbappe was PSG’s greatest player ever. Yes, for me, given his global influence and his ongoing work. He will always be remembered as PSG’s best player.”

Since joining PSG in 2018, Mbappe has won over a dozen domestic championships, but his team has failed to get past the Champions League round each time. The French World Cup winner will have scored 255 goals in 306 games and contributed to the team’s historic achievement if he leaves Parc des Princes this summer as anticipated. Henry also says their accomplishments won’t be forgotten.

When Mbappe’s team plays Lyon on May 25, they have the opportunity to win the French Cup in addition to helping PSG win yet another Ligue 1 championship this season. But they play Toulouse on Sunday night before that.
