Liverpool sweating over Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez fitness ahead of Carabao Cup final

Liverpool sweating over Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez fitness ahead of Carabao Cup final as Jurgen Klopp issues concerning injury update.

Ahead of their encounter with Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, Liverpool are worried about the health of their offensive tandem, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah.

With matches against Luton in the Premier League and the cup final against Chelsea on Sunday, the Reds are preparing for a demanding week. The Telegraph claims that star forwards Salah and Nunez might end up missing both games.

Salah returned from a hamstring injury to score in Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Brentford on Saturday, his first appearance since January 1. However, the Egypt international is suffering with muscle weariness. Nunez, who was brought off at halftime as a precaution, is also dealing with a muscle ailment. Neither player has been ruled out for the next two games as of yet.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp told reporters: “There is no game where you can say, ‘Let’s see how the others play at the weekend, and if we lose, it’ll be okay.'” We don’t see it that way; instead, we look at who is available in each game and then employ them to their full potential. There is no other possibility. If he [Nunez] were totally healthy, there would be no reason to keep him out and no opportunity for us. That’s it. As we previously stated, we take each day as it comes.

They join Thiago Alcantara, Stefan Bajcetic, Ben Doak, and Joel Matip, who have been out for longer periods of time.

Klopp’s team faces Luton on Wednesday in the hope of maintaining their one-point advantage at the top of the Premier League. They will then face Chelsea, led by Mauricio Pochettino, in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
