Indonesia’s Olympic delegation will be sent off by the president on Wednesday

According to Youth and Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is set to send off 29 athletes who will represent Indonesia in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris on Wednesday, July 10. After attending a meeting on the tourism fund on Monday at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, he said, “Yes, the schedule (of the send-off) is being organized.” Since the 2004 Olympics in Athens, when the squad consisted of 38 athletes, Ariotedjo has emphasized that squad Indonesia for the current Olympics is the largest in the previous 20 years.

 

The minister further highlighted that Indonesia will debut in a few sports this year. “Athletes from our team have earned spots in sports in which we have never participated in an Olympics before. With God’s help, we’ll create history. I’m praying for the people’s help,” he said. He mentioned that everything was about ready for Team Indonesia to fly out to Paris. “We are roughly 80% of the way through the preparations. He said, “All we have to do is adjust on the field and take care of a few administrative issues.
