“I was surprised by Lewis Hamilton’s congratulations because he had never written to me before and we had never interacted,” said Alcaraz

After winning Wimbledon 2024, Carlos Alcaraz shares a surprise congratulations mail from the Formula One legend, Lewis Hamilton, saying “He had never written to me before.”

Carlos Alcaraz was taken aback to receive a congrats message from Formula One legend Lewis Hamilton, following his victory at Wimbledon. In straight sets, the World No. 3 defeated Novak Djokovic to successfully retain his title at SW19.

Alcaraz, who became the sixth person in the Open Era to complete the Channel Slam, is currently riding high on triumph after winning back-to-back Majors at Wimbledon and the French Open. The Spaniard advanced to the Wimbledon 2024 final by defeating Mark Lajal, Aleksandar Vukic, Frances Tiafor, Ugo Humbert, Tommy Paul, and Daniil Medvedev.The 21-year-old destroyed Novak Djokovic 6-2, 6-2, 7-6(4) in a rematch of the 2023 championship match. In a mere two hours and twenty-seven minutes, he secured the title, signifying his fourth career Grand Slam triumph.

After winning, Carlos Alcaraz had a conversation with Marca in which he mentioned the athletes and celebrities who had congratulated him, such as Neymar and Will Smith. But the F1 legend Lewis Hamilton sent the Spaniard a note that took him by surprise.Alcaraz claimed that the reason he was shocked was because the two players had never before interacted.

Even though the Wimbledon winner was positive he had overlooked other names, he expressed his excitement at hearing from them. “I am sure there are some more that I have missed, but I am very excited to receive them all,” said he.

Carlos Alcaraz is confident and wants to move forward without worrying about the future. “I think I can do great things,” he says.

Alcaraz promised not to take his accomplishment for granted and acknowledged the unpredictability of the future. He nevertheless stated that he is certain he is headed in the correct direction and that he would not give up.

Driven by his potential, Alcaraz committed to continuing his daily training and combat in order to accomplish a noteworthy feat. What the future has in store for me is unknown. After all, anything can happen in a few years and things might go in a lot of different directions,” he remarked.

Nothing should ever be taken for granted. All I can say is that there will be a fight. We are certain that we are proceeding appropriately and on the correct course. He continued, “I think I can do great things if we continue down this path and see what the future holds for us. Let’s continue with this ambition, this desire to train and fight every day.”

Soon, Carlos Alcaraz will travel to Paris to compete in both singles and doubles at the 2024 Olympics. He’ll compete in the doubles division alongside Rafael Nadal, his idol.
