Following the 2023 treble, Man City’s Pep Guardiola received the Best Men’s Coach award.

Following his 2023 treble victory with the English team, Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola was given The Best Men’s Head Coach award on Monday.

Despite receiving multiple nominations, this is Guardiola’s first victory since the awards started in 2017. It comes after his incredible 2023 season with Manchester City, in which they won the FA Cup, the Premier League, and the UEFA Champions League.

Man City was the most dominant team in club football in 2023, and they demonstrated this at all competitions and levels of play. Guardiola and company were the most formidable team of the season, whether playing in English football or European competition. The Spaniard has added important pillars to the team and integrated youthful talent, giving the group flexibility in terms of experience and youth distribution.

Other finalists for the prize included Barcelona’s Xavi, Napoli’s Luciano Spalleti, Celtic and Tottenham’s Ange Postecoglou, and Inter Milan’s Simone Inzaghi.

Between 1992 and 2001, Guardiola played in 42 matches for the Spanish national team, tallying five goals.

The Manchester City manager will want to repeat his treble-winning campaign as his team is now only two points behind Liverpool in first place in the Premier League. But first things first—the FA Cup is in a few days, and then there’s the UCL.
