Currently leading 6-1, 2-1 after dropping the opening two sets in his match against Grigor Dimitrov, Andrey Rublev appears to be poised for a surprise victory. But his problems with anger came back.
Rublev took a different approach. In the last 12 months, he has gained notoriety for venting his resentment on himself, primarily by smashing his racquet off his knee to escape infractions.

In the past year, Rublev has been transparent about his difficulties with mental health and how they affect his performance on the court. Generally a very well-mannered individual, anger with himself awakens a different beast.
He’s gotten so bad that he was defaulted earlier this year for yelling at a line judge and repeatedly hurt his knees in particular. Here was another incident where Rublev became irrationally angry.
