A unique strategy was employed by Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final

In order to tie his legendary adversary Roger Federer’s record, Novak Djokovic desired to win his eighth Wimbledon Championship title and his 25th Grand Slam overall.

Carlos Alcaraz, playing what may have been his finest match of his career, put up a perfect fight in the final, ending his streak. For the most portion of the match, the Serbian champion was humiliated; only in the latter stages of the third set, when things had become more complicated, did he show some resistance.

The former world number one has failed to find a strategy to overcome Carlitos’s inevitabilities, making an abnormally high amount of unintentional mistakes and frequently reaching the net empty-handed. Nole, a 21-year-old Spaniard, didn’t have any issues despite appearing hurried in some of his tactical decisions.

Nole was in the lead in the end. It is impossible to see Djokovic’s season favorably despite the Wimbledon final. The Belgrade native, 37, has not yet taken home a championship in 2024 and is incapable of keeping up with the quickness of up-and-coming players like Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

In the Wimbledon Championship final, the Spaniard easily overcame Novak, but in the Australian Open 2024 quarterfinals, the Italian had kept him from winning the Davis Cup the previous year. Over the first six and a half months of this year, Nole (who currently lacks a coach) sacked almost every member of his team due to his inability to find the proper motivation.

With outstanding sportsmanship, Novak Djokovic said after the match that he felt less competent than the other player: “Of course, I do feel disappointed.” I lost the finals today, and it hurts like hell. I am capable of self-criticism at all times. I can already see the flaws, and I can always find more. Things that I might have done more effectively.

To be honest, I don’t think that would much alter how the match plays out. You could tell right away that he was, in every aspect, at least a notch above me. I will need to play much better than I did today if I want to have a legitimate chance of defeating these men (Alcaraz and Sinner) in the later stages of Grand Slams or the Olympics. I’ll put some effort into it. It’s not something I have never encountered in my life before. Over the course of my job, I’ve encountered so many diverse situations. When faced with hardship, I usually overcome it, grow from it, and become stronger.

Djokovic never gives up. For Novak Djokovic to defeat opponents far younger than him, he must perform at his peak. Since winning the tournament’s final stages with decisive victories over Sinner and Alcaraz in 2023, the Serbian has not performed at his best. Nole’s next goal is to represent his nation by winning a gold medal at the Olympics in Paris. This has always been the Serbian’s desire, although he never performed very well at the Olympics for a variety of reasons.Despite leading a set and a break in the semifinal match against Alexander Zverev, the former world number one appeared to be on the verge of winning the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

Despite what Alcaraz taught him in London, Nole Djokovic isn’t planning to give up: “I would love to come back here in the future.” Now that I’m at my final Wimbledon, I’m not thinking about anything else. I truly want to participate in whatever game. I’m not thinking of any restrictions. As long as I believe I can continue to play at this high level, I want to keep playing. I keep going, so let’s keep it going too. I still plan to participate in the Olympics and maybe even get the opportunity to compete for my nation’s medal. Returning to the location where I was hurt a few weeks ago, but obviously on a totally different surface.

Despite his poor season, 37-year-old Novak remains the second-ranked player in the world. Due to his victories in the 2023 Masters 1000 in Cincinnati, US Open, Paris-Bercy, and ATP Finals in Turin, the Serbian will have a lot of ground to cover in the second half of the season. Nole Djokovic’s career is undoubtedly ended, but it’s still possible for the Serbian to win his 25th Major and surpass Margaret Court, shocking the entire world once more.
